When we read the papers or watch the news, it can sometimes seem like the end of the world is coming: hyperinflation, recession, market crashes, geopolitical tensions, energy crises, ideological and political divisions, famine, not to mention asteroids, tsunamis, and the threat of nuclear armageddon.
All these things are real, and many issues are absolutely urgent and pose an existential threat to human civilization. But I believe that, despite all the challenges of our time, we must find the strength to endure them in the same way as our ancestors did at the most critical moments of human history, and reflect on our most important human values, such as love, tolerance, dialogue, and democracy and relentlessly apply them in life.
I am equally grateful for pleasant blessings and hardships that make me a better person.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy your turkey!
